#19  Clay Hunter Trail

  Difficulty:  Beginning to Advanced

  Distance:  Approximately 85 Miles

  Clearance Issues:  NO

This trail begins at the rodeo grounds and travels west through grasslands and rolling hills, later changing to Juniper and Pinion, and then to cool ponderosa pine and aspen. Ranch lands and trails of old trappers like Clay Hunter make this historic trail so interesting. You will see old cattle dipping tanks, water tanks, springs, even a rock with Clay Hunter's signature!  The trail makes a large loop around Green's Peak, and then turns back through the grasslands.  Elevation changes from 7,000 feet to over 9,500 feet.
